Vita
Based in Frankfurt, I’ve been traveling the world for journalistic research for more than a decade; reporting from film festivals and remote islands. Also, I researched looted art in Nigeria and the UK. I contributed to BBC Radio, wrote essays about Dante’s Inferno in movies and moral issues in contemporary cinema for anthologies, and recorded an hourlong radio essay on Jeanne d’Arc and the cultural history of women’s trousers. At „Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung“ I work as an editor and write about film, literature and fashion. My books about the troubles of traveling with German trains, about the cultural phenomenon of tidying up and about the feminist Alexandra Kollontai were published by HarperCollins. In my current non-fiction book I take a closer look on German design icon Jil Sander, ask how Bauhaus influenced her minimalist style and what legacy she has on contemporary fashion.
